Q. Is this
Purewasher?
A. We have
changed the name of our cleaner from Purewasher to SmellyWasher Cleaner
for consistency's sake (Smellywasher Cleaner at smellywasher.com). The
cleaner is now shipped in a plastic bottle instead of a reclosable
storage bag. The bottle’s lid can be used as a measuring cup. One level
cap full is perfect for 1 treatment.
Q. How often do
I need to use Smellywasher Cleaner?
A.
After the
initial cleaning the frequency of use depends
upon the detergent/softener use.
If you use much less than what directions on the box or bottle advise
the odor will be MUCH less frequent. We advise to use just a tablespoon
of cleaner when an odor is noticed either from the washer or from
towels. However, many users like to do monthly “maintenace” cycles
because by the time the odor is noticed it means the fungus is already
growing. If monthly maintenance cyles are done just 1 TEASPOON allowed
to soak in a hot setting is all that is needed.
Q. How Did
Smellywasher® come about?
A. For years
we had been using industrial strength cleaners with harsh chemicals to
clean units that we serviced. We decided to create a cleaner that was
safe for your family and the environment. Smellywasher cleaner is
all-natural and non-toxic. It is specifically made
to safely
and easily clean washing machines, towels and clothing. It
will
not harm seals, gaskets or drains. And it is safe
with all septic
systems!
Q. What do
professionals use to get rid of odor and mildew in
washing machines?
A. We have
been approached by numerous newspaper columnists and radio talk show
hosts that ask to feature Smellywasher® cleaner. To see what the
professionals are doing about this problem - type smelly washer for a
search topic at www.masterhandyman.com and read

syndicated home improvement author Glenn Haege thinks about

Q. I used
Smellywasher®
cleaner but can still detect a faint odor from my washer.
A. Almost
all customers are able to remove
odor from their washer with just one cleaning. Depending
on your washer’s age, type, the amount of detergent/fabric softener
used and quality of water, it may take more than one and even several
cleanings to remove
the odor. Please keep using Smellywasher® Cleaner tablespoon
at a time until the odor is removed.
There is more information on how to clean extreme cases in our Smellywasher blog. There is also more information on other appliances and health issues related to appliances on the blog. If you have more questions or still have an odor please feel free to email us at lab@smellywasher.com. Please include type and age of washer (front load or top), type and amount of detergent/fabric softener normally used and whether or not you have a water softener. Emails are answered several times a day.
